Sea Skin: Eunice Pais
Eunice Pais is a Portuguese-Mozambican multidisciplinary artist who lives and works between Esposende and Porto. Her practice draws on different legacies to question forms of coexistence between species and geographies. For her first exhibition in an institutional context, entitled Sea Skin, the artist uses film and installation to explore an expanded reading of the landscape, proposing a listening space that analyzes the interdependent relationships between memory and ecosystem.

Bestiary of macroalgae & other beings, with Seaghosts & Reina del Mar
— What cyborg seaweed exists in our imagination and by the sea?
In this workshop, which is part of the programme for the Sea Skin exhibition, we will create algae-beasts and other creatures from the underwater worlds of the future. Drawing inspiration from cyborg manifestos and archives from a seaside universe, younger audiences will be guided through the creative practices of Seaghosts and Reina del Mar. Using drawing, collage, digitisation and modelling techniques, we will collectively create a bestiary of macroalgae, seaborgs and other beings.

Led by anthropologist Álvaro Campelo and artist Eunice Pais, this walk will explore how the harvesting of sargassum has shaped the landscape and local community of Apúlia. The discussion will draw a connection between the exhibition Sea Skin and this region.
The activity invites you to discover the Sargassum Landscapes, the result of traditional practices, collective memories, and cultural experiences that continue to shape the area.
